La Puebla de Montalbán Council has finally made available the official programme for the XVII Festival Celestina, to take place from the 21st to the 30th of August 2015. This year’s topic is still “La España de Rojas” and the adherence to Gilman’s views are particularly noticeable in two of the three conferences programmed, all of them to take place at Museo La Celestina: “Contexto histórico y personajes de la Celestina“ (Rodolfo de los Reyes and Pedro Velasco, 24th of August, 21:00) and “Magia y convivencia de las tres culturas en la España de Rojas” (José Carlos Sheni, 26th of August, 21:00). The remaining conference sounds promising for someone interested on the History of the Book as myself: “La Imprenta en la época de La Celestina” (Fermín de los Reyes, 29th August, 21:00).
Once again I will not be able to take part in the festival, neither as speaker nor as visitor, therefore, I invite you to send me your impressions, were you to attend it.
La Puebla de Montalbán Council has finally made available the official programme for the XVI Festival Celestina, to take place from the 23rd to the 31st of August 2014.
Probably, the event of greatest interest is the perfomance of the Tragicomedia de Calixto y Melibea on Saturday night (Plaza Mayor, 22:30), as the conference of this year seems not to be related directly to a celestinesque topic but, according to the specialisation fields of the speakers, to sephardic music and the “converso” background of Fernando de Rojas.
This confirms my previous intuition on this year’s topic “La España de Rojas” being somehow related to Gilman’s The Spain of Fernando de Rojas, although I am not sure yet, if this has been made on purpose or unintentionally.
According to the city council official announcement, the XVI Festival Celestina will take place from the 23rd to the 31st of August of 2014, under the main topic of “La España de Rojas”. We ignore if the reference to Gilman’s work is on purpose or just a coincidence, but without a programme yet, there is no way to ascertain it.

The Ayuntamiento of La Puebla de Montalbán has already made public the programme (Flash– or PDF-format) of the XV Festival Celestina. This edition’s paper is “La Celestina, en su tiempo y en el nuestro”, to be given by José Luis Pareja Sánchez on Sunday, 25th August 2013, at Museo La Celestina.
